About the Artist

Britt is an award-winning impressionist landscape artist. Her works can be found in shows and galleries across the Pacific Northwest as well as around the country, and her original work is in private and corporate collections around the world.

Her work has been accepted in national juried shows, and she was offered Signature membership to the exclusive Puget Sound Group of Northwest Artists based on merit.

Britt's Story

Born in rural Pillager, Minnesota (population 459), Britt was fortunate to have the same amazing art teacher throughout her four years of high school. This continuity gave her a solid basis of color theory, composition, values, as well as confidence to keep on creating.

Her first real oil painting lessons were from a neighbor who insisted on being paid in homemade goat cheese! Since that early start, she has taken workshops from Mitch Albala, Mike Wise, Pam Ingalls, and Jim Lamb.

Britt experienced rare early success in her art.  Just two years after starting painting professionally, she was accepted by her first gallery and had two landscape paintings accepted into a national juried show.  She was invited to be the poster artist for Port Orchard's Historical Home and Garden Tour, and her original paintings are in private and corporate collections from Seattle to Connecticut, as well as internationally.

In 2019, she was nominated for membership into the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Artists by Ned Mueller-- one of the most nationally awarded living artists. At the time this group was exclusively professional level artists demonstrating excellence, who had to be nominated and voted in by the board.  It has since opened to all artists. She chaired the Great Annual Northwest Show 2020 (virtually) for the group.

She is a member of Plein Air Washington Artists and has led a multi-day camping/plein air expedition in Mt. Rainier National Park.  She is the designated plein air poster artist for 2021 for Railroad Days in Snoqualmie, WA.  Britt also coordinated the artists for wine walks for the City of Renton in 2018 and 2019.

Now, after being represented in 11 galleries across the Puget Sound region, she has opened Britt Greenland Gallery in North Bend, WA.

When not in the studio, Britt loves travel, hiking, cycling, backpacking, and sailing with her husband and friends - often painting on the way.

Her passion is capturing and immortalizing the wonder of creation. She finds these "wonder moments" anywhere from dramatic mountains of the Alps or Cascade ranges to the intimate way a trail through the woods is dappled in sunlight.

Britt has lived in the Seattle area since 2001.
